Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the 1963 founding of the African Union (AU) which is celebrated in Africa and many countries around the world. Africa Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of the peoples and governments of Africa. In Australia, Africa Day is celebrated in partnership between Africa Day Australia, numerous African Australian community organisations, members of the diplomatic corps, government organisations, members of various political parties and numerous community organisations.

“Living Healthy Active Lives”
Venue: The Springers Leisure Centre, 400 Cheltenham Rd, Keysborough
Among the several sports to be enjoyed are men's and
women's basketball competition, athletics (3km, 5 km
walk/run or 10 km run) and men's and women's Africa Day
Soccer Cup competition. The competing teams
represent a multicultural mix of Australian communities.
Free Event
Start time is 10:00am and concludes with an award
ceremony at 5:00pm.

Africa Day Sports Festival - “Living Healthy Active Lives” – Melbourne, Australia 17th of May 2015
Last year's Africa Day Sports Festival. The completion included Netball, basketball and Soccer. The soccer final was between Nigeria and Zimbabwe. Michael Filon and his team ran an amazing event.




This family oriented sport festival includes soccer and basketball tournaments. The community was treated to a free halal BBQ.
