Africa Day Australia
Celebrating African Diverse Cultures, Values, Success, and Empowered African Australians
Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the 1963 founding of the African Union (AU) which is celebrated in Africa and many countries around the world. Africa Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of the peoples and governments of Africa. In Australia, Africa Day is celebrated in partnership between Africa Day Australia, numerous African Australian community organisations, members of the diplomatic corps, government organisations, members of various political parties and numerous community organisations.
This youth talent quest unleashed African Australian creative talents. Africa’s Got Talent is the performing arts competition part of Africa Day. It is open to young emerging African Australian artists to showcase their talent to the wider Australian community, enabling the bridging of the gap. AGT is the culmination of methodical auditions held across 11 municipalities. The final 10 artists from the pre-selections competed for the top prize.

AGT IN 2015
In 2015 Rudo and Joel Mphande managed AGT exceptionally well. This dynamic couple put together a new team. They recruited a Media Director, Operations Manager, Artist Manager, Vocal & Performance Coach, Music Director, Assistant Music Director, Photographer, Sound Engineer, Makeup artist and a Hair stylist. Their team managed live auditions, voice and performance workshops. Great feedback was given from all involved. The photoshoot with MX Newspaper engaged the community and advertised the event. The video interviews with contestants was a great activity that offered the audience a look at the personal story of each finalist. A pre-finale promotional gig in a restaurant promoted the quality of the event. The winners are scheduled to commence recording their EP project with CEB on the 6th of August.
